As 2019 gathers pace, the valuable work of Royal Freemasons, in caring for more than 2,000 older people, remains focused on innovating tradition.

The work of Royal Freemasons for 152 years is very much a part of the legacy of Freemasons in Victoria. Whether it is through our residential aged care services, our in-home care, or retirement living options, we are inspired every day to help older people to live secure, dignified and rewarding lives.

Our new facilities, recent acquisitions and redevelopment of existing Homes in Melbourne and around the State lead the way in their clinical practice, their technological advances and their outstanding levels of care. At the very core of what we do is our passion to create a sense of belonging and connectedness through compassion and respect.

In this Autumn 2019 issue of The Link, we look at some of the significant events worthy of celebration.

Our story on page 3 is a tribute to our volunteer workforce. Volunteerism builds strong communities and connectedness in powerful and practical ways. It has been proven in all manner of settings to have multiple benefits for those who volunteer, and for the people who are supported by them.

Our Open Day at Royal Freemasons Moe on Sunday 2nd December 2018 provided another opportunity for a celebration of community spirit, with many local people, City of Latrobe Councillors, residents and their families enjoying what the day and the new facility had to offer.

Other stories show a number of interesting and creative ways we help our residents and older persons stay connected. We hope you enjoy reading about a special birthday celebration, a charity golf day, visits by therapy dogs, the outings and activities we encourage our residents to enjoy.

Caring for and connecting older persons is at the very heart of what Royal Freemasons does. Our professional care and personal compassion assist many people to remain interested, active and involved in their lives and in the life of the community.

We hope you enjoy this issue of The Link.
