IN LINE WITH OUR CONTINUOUS GROWTH STRATEGY, ROYAL FREEMASONS HAS ACQUIRED FOOTSCRAY AGED CARE AND BERWICK BRAE RETIREMENT VILLAGE.

Footscray Aged Care residential aged care facility consists of 64 beds and a Day Therapy Centre. Located five kilometres west of the Melbourne CBD, Footscray Aged Care is an exciting addition to our existing residential aged care facilities and presents Royal Freemasons with a wonderful opportunity to provide quality care and accommodation for an increasing number of older persons in Victoria and, in particular, for the local community in the Maribyrnong City Council. Footscray Aged Care has experienced and dedicated employees who serve customers from diverse cultural backgrounds, is accredited until September 2018, and is a good cultural fit for our organisation.

Berwick Brae Retirement Village comprises 66 independent living units and 10 recently completed independent living apartments, together with a vibrant Community Centre which serves as the social hub of the complex. Located 40 kilometres south east of the Melbourne CBD, Berwick Brae is an affordable, relaxed retirement village set among beautiful gardens on a generous nine acres of land. The 100 acre Wilson Botanic Park is situated at its boundaries, to which residents have direct access. Berwick Brae is an exciting addition to our diverse range of independent living offerings and presents Royal Freemasons with a wonderful opportunity to add to our quality accommodation options available to an increasing number of older persons in Victoria and, in particular, for the local community in the City of Casey. Royal Freemasons commenced management of Berwick Brae on 01 June 2016, after a smooth transition process.

The purchase of Berwick Brae is aligned to the strategic intent of the Trustees and the Board of Royal Freemasons to grow every aspect of the organisation into the future. This ‘growth’ intent is clearly expressed in the Strategic Plan 2013-2018.
