The ‘Celebration of Life Program’ was developed to celebrate the lives of the residents who have died during the previous year.
It is about remembering and honouring them with their families and those individuals who have touched their lives during their stay at Royal Freemasons.
Staff also grieve the relationships that are lost as it is not just about the care provided, it is also about time spent with each resident, stories shared, meeting their families, the trust and the friendship that develops. Thus, staff are also involved in the ‘celebration of life’ event along with next of kin, other residents and volunteers.
The celebration provides the opportunity for all assembled to share stories and anecdotes about the person who has passed away.
