As our country hosts Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla this week on their first Royal Tour since The King ascended to the throne in 2022, Royal Freemasons remembers the important role The Royal Family has played in its history.
In 1967, on the occasion of our centennial celebrations, it was officially announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had given her consent for us to use the prefix ‘Royal’ in our name. This honour was given in recognition of our organisation’s 100 years of service to the aged and we have been known as Royal Freemasons ever since.
