THE ROYAL FREEMASONS COMMUNITY CHOIR HAS JUST CELEBRATED THEIR 1ST BIRTHDAY WITH A PARTY ON FRIDAY 20TH MAY.
The choir is made up of our customers, family and employees at Centennial Lodge aged care facility in Wantirna South. The choir practices under the instruction of Michele Morgan who has coached them from the beginning.
After receiving their “With One Voice” uniform T-Shirts they have had many opportunities to perform. The first engagement was at “With One Big Voice” event in the Melbourne Town Hall with other choirs making up 300 voices. The residents in particular were so excited and happy to be part of this event that they talked about it for weeks afterwards. Singing with a large group makes everyone feel part of a bigger picture and has brought everyone closer together.
The Choir has also sung with the Wantirna College students, for the Centennial Lodge Christmas cocktail party in front of over 100 people and at the Royal Freemasons ‘’Open Day” at Coppin Centre.
Each member looks forward to choir practice on Tuesdays at Centennial Lodge from 2.45pm to 3.45pm. The Choir now has a repertoire of songs from olden to modern day, from musical and opera. If anyone would care to join our Choir we would love to hear from you. Please call Charmaine on 92109600.
Singing brings us all so much joy! Come along and join in with the fun and it will leave you smiling at the end of each session.
