Christmas in July is a great time when cooler temperatures allow for more old-fashioned, traditional northern hemisphere festivities. Residents of the Royal Freemasons aged care home Mount Martha Valley at Safety Beach had the chance to celebrate mid-year Yulefest, partying in the cool weather at Mornington Tavern.

It was a lovely day of celebration, starting with a morning tea. An amazing Christmas lunch followed by delicious plum pudding. The most exciting part of the day was listening to the music of a live band playing popular songs to all – what a celebration for the soul!

“Putting excursion time into a resident’s schedule increases their happiness. Just anticipating fun activities gives them a positive boost,” says Lifestyle Coordinator Angela Stone.

“Mount Martha Valley offers a wide range of activities to enable residents to engage in a full and active lifestyle,” explains the Manager, Likando.

Connecting with people when they’re more relaxed and away from their routines is a wonderful experience. Friendships start to bloom and they call themselves ‘resident buddies’.
