National volunteer week was held around Australia to say thank you to the six million people who donate their time. One of the thousands of events was a celebration at Springtime Sydenham, where staff and residents were delighted to say ‘thanks’ to their wonderful volunteers.
Set to the theme ’Give a little. Change a lot’. National Volunteer Week sheds a light on the millions of Australian volunteers who make a profound impact in their communities and on society, through giving a bit of their time.
Royal Freemasons has over 280 volunteers across the organisation, supporting us in many different ways.
We have volunteers from the Ladies Auxiliary, the Hand of Friendship Lodge as well as other lodge members. Volunteers assist with our men’s groups, craft groups, bus driving, board games, bingo (always a favourite), carpet bowls, footy tipping, DVD watching, discussion groups, reading and trivia groups, church services, pet therapy, exercise therapy and one-on-one companionship visits.
Just a few hours of volunteer work make a difference to the happiness and morale of our residents and employees.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation for all the time, care and support that our volunteers give so generously and enthusiastically to our residents.
We hope you were all able to celebrate during National Volunteers Week.
