Capturing Life’s Stories

Our exciting ‘A Celebration of Life’ Appeal 2016

OUR 2016 WINTER APPEAL FOCUSES ON REMEMBERING ONE’S LIFE HISTORY.

For families, a biography can be a permanent legacy of their loved one and can often lead to a deeper understanding of their life.

There is a growing body of scientific and anecdotal evidence that is encouraging seniors to capture their life stories. While not a formally recognized therapy it is a powerful medicine for the customer, family, and caregiver.

Research shows that family history writing or reminiscing improves self-esteem, enhances feelings of control and mastery over life, and often results in a new or expanded vision of one’s life.

Capturing Life’s Stories Our exciting ‘A Celebration of Life’ Appeal 2016 For very advanced-age customers the chance to tell their stories improves cognition, lessens depression and dementia, and improves behavioral functioning.
