Singapore delegation visits Royal Freemasons

On 20 November 2014, Royal Freemasons hosted a delegation of six senior management staff from the National University Hospital Singapore.

The delegation led by Head of Geriatric Medicine Associate Professor Reshma Merchant consisted of three medical consultants, Dr Shu Ee Ng, Geriatrician Program Director, Dr Aisha Lateef, Clinical Services Director, Dr Ho Han Kwee, Primary Care Director; and two Coordinators, Astrid Khoo and Cheng Lin.

The visit commenced with a warm introduction and corporate presentation by Christina Chia, Executive Officer. This was followed by a presentation from Associate Professor Scherer focusing on the Royal Freemasons Transition Care Program (TCP) partnership with Alfred Health.

Other Royal Freemasons staff participated in the delegation including Chief Nurse Marie Vaughan, Manager – Clinical Practice Elaine Simpson, Manager – Wellness Centre Hon Mieu, Care Manager Rose Cook, Senior Clinician TCP Kathleen Collins. There was a robust discussion and sharing of information during the Round Table session concerning the Home Based Program and the Coppin Centre Bed-Based Program with TCP Case Managers, Allied Health teams and doctors.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Associate Professor Sam Scherer, Marie Vaughan, Dr Xiang Loh and Sean Bowley for organising the event and ensuring a successful outcome.
