A chance to say “Thanks for caring”

Royal Freemasons was proud to celebrate Ageing Australia’s Aged Care Employee Day on 7 August to recognise and thank the many unsung heroes in our Residential Aged Care, In-home Support, Independent Living, and Support Services team.

Most of all, the day was a perfect opportunity for our residents, clients and their families, to extend their messages of appreciation to the staff who care for them every day.

Today, more than 1300 employees support over 1000 people in our care. Among them are personal carers, nurses, lifestyle staff, facility managers, laundry staff, case managers, food services assistants and many others — each playing an important role in helping our residents and clients feel cared for, connected, and confident.

As Royal Freemasons CEO Hugh Cattermole says, “The work that every member of the Royal Freemasons team does makes a real difference, not only to the people we care for, but also to their families. They give them comfort and peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are being supported with kindness, dignity and respect.”

Staff celebrated the day with morning and afternoon tea, enjoying the many messages of thanks from aged care residents and In-home Support clients that were displayed in their homes and online.

We are grateful to all our staff who work tirelessly to make sure those in our care receive the compassionate and person-centred support they need. It is through their dedication that we carry forward our 159-year mission of caring for vulnerable older Victorians well into the future.
