Royal Freemasons is proud to offer a calendar full of activities, entertainment and assistance to provide our residents with stimulating activities to keep spirits at a high during their stay with us.
Your help would be greatly appreciated to continue to make a positive impact. Volunteers can be involved in the following areas:
- Lifestyle Activities and Programs
- Bus driving, assisting on shopping trips and general outings
- 1:1 Companionship with our residents
- Maintenance and gardening
- Fundraising
- Walking with residents, including wheelchair walks
- Reading and playing games
- Discussion & socialisation groups
- Art & Craft activities
- Music and Entertainment
- Helping out at the shop or kiosk
- Pet Therapy
- Facilitating a Men’s Club
and the Ladies Auxiliary – an integral part of the Royal Freemasons volunteer history, having supported Royal Freemasons for over 60 years. With over 250 volunteers assisting across seven residential aged care sites, we are always happy to welcome new volunteers into the program. We offer a range of opportunities for those with a positive disposition, great communication skills and an understanding of the needs of older people living in the community.
Many volunteers come to Royal Freemasons having already established a good relationship with us. Some may have had family or friends as residents,others may want to give back to the community through establishing a meaningful relationship with both staff and our residents.
Volunteers are involved in a diverse range of roles and, Royal Freemasons always tries to match their skills and interests with their allocated tasks. We also provide appropriate training and education for their role.
