At the Heart of Our Community

Our volunteers' dedication, commitment and good cheer is one of the things that contribute to our quality of care.

While many people chose to support Royal Freemasons financially through donations and bequests (see Supporting Us), others chose to make a real difference to the lives of residents and clients by giving of their time, assistance and skills.

Some of the tasks volunteers undertake include visiting lonely clients and residents, bus driving, maintenance work, watering gardens, entertaining residents, assisting on outings, clerical assistance, taking residents to appointments, running craft and activities groups and fundraising. The annual Masonic Bowls Day and the Masonic Golf Day are both organised by volunteers.

The Ladies Auxiliary has been raising funds for over 50 years and during that time they have contributed almost $1 million. This is an outstanding achievement from a team of dedicated volunteers. Today the Auxiliary supports the running of the residents shop at the Coppin Centre, Melbourne.

Of significant note is the contribution of the Victorian Freemason community who support Royal Freemasons in many ways, including donations, bequests, fundraising activities and assisting in our volunteer program. Importantly, individual Freemasons perform an invaluable role in our governance functions.
