October 5 2011> 2011 Community Care participates at 'Positive Ageing Lifestyle Expo'
As part of The City of Monash Seniors Festival, Royal Freemasons Community Care staff were on hand at the 2011 Positive Ageing Lifestyle Expo to promote the range of services and programs on offer to older persons to helping them age well. The Seniors Festival is held throughout October and aims to encourage those aged 55 years and over to stay active, and get involved in their local community.
October 4 2011 > Coppin Centre due for completion
Due for completion in October 2011, a new four-storey multipurspose residential aged care facility has emerged from the ground at our Moubray Street site and now proudly fronts Punt Road.
Construction commenced in November 2009, and the building has entered the final stages of completion which will make it the centrepiece at the Royal Freemasons Annual Open Day on Sunday 6 November 2011.
In June 2009, our Trustees completed the acquisition of land on Vine Street in Heidelberg to build a retirement apartment complex following the success of Redmond Park in North Carlton. A Town Planning permit for 85 units was granted in July 2011. The process is now underway to review the outcomes of feasibility studies undertaken in 2009 and 2010 and the schematic designs approved by Council, with a view to convening a Project Control Group and commencing detailed design and documentation.July 29 2011 > Town Planning Permit for Streeton Park
May 9 2011> Recognition of Facilities Management expertise
Royal Freemasons Property Manager, Trish Ferrier was awarded the 2011 Facilities Management Association (FMA) of Australia National Member of the Year award in Brisbane earlier this year. The award recognised Trish's commitment and dedication to education and industry credentialing.
Trish, a highly accomplished and well credentialed facility manager has worked tirelessly with FMA Australia and education bodies on the development of the Diploma for Facilities Management. She has become a mentor to those in the industry wishing to undertake the credential. A leader in her field, Trish is a member of the Deakin University School of Architecture and Building Advisory Board.
September 10 2010 > Redmond Park celebrates anniversary
Redmond Park celebrated its one year anniversary in September 2010. It continues to build on what is already an extensive suite of services and social activities, with the recent introduction of Massage Therapy, Pilates, Latin Dance classes and Low Impact Exercise sessions.
The social activities calendar includes regular walking groups, knitting and craft sessions, book club and the very successful and well attended coffee mornings and afternoon happy hours
November 30 2010 > Coppin Centre Emerges as Facilities Combine
From December 2010, Royal Freemasons' Coppin Community Hostel and Colbran Lodge (located in Prahran) was combined into a single residential aged care service, now know as Coppin Centre.
