Testimonials

When I started working with Royal Freemasons it was a total change of career. I wanted to do something that was rewarding and working in the community is very satisfying and sometimes very humbling because of the appreciation we get for our services from the clients, some of whom have lived exceptional lives. The organisation is continually updating and improving procedures for staff and client satisfaction to make sure that they are providing the most appropriate care and support. Since joining Royal Freemasons as a Personal Care Assistant, I have been encouraged to study and further my career. I started a PCA Cert 111 and was then encouraged to apply to Melbourne University for a post- graduate certificate of Case Management, which I completed in 2003 (I had never previously attended a university). In the nine years I have been with the organisation, I have been supported in furthering my career from PCA to Assistant Care Manager", then Care Manager. I have seen people who start as cleaners becoming carers and Care Staff becoming Assistant Care Managers and Care Managers like myself. To me, this shows the faith that the organisation has in their staff by investing in their future and rewarding individuals for their effort. The support, encourage and interest shown towards their staff is, for me, what makes the organisation such a great place to work.

For the past two years I have worked as a Personal Carer in the Royal Freemasons Outreach Program. I feel proud to be counted as a member of this vibrant and dynamic team. Is it easy to come to work first thing on a Monday morning? Of course it is, I love it and that's the truth! Carers and Care Managers meet together twice a day, doing so gives us the opportunity to communicate relevant information, in doing so, we don't feel isolated and on our own, this infuses a great positive energy. Royal Freemasons Management greatly care about us as part of their staff, as well as being very committed, caring and attentive to our aged clients. I feel very privileged working in this rewarding community based service helping care for the aged, and at the same time, working with a committed and professional organisation.
