Coppin Lodge
Care, compassion and respect have been at the heart of Royal Freemasons since it was founded as a charitable organisation in 1867. The vision then was to serve the needs of the community, to provide for those who required help and to ensure each individual was able to lead a secure, dignified and rewarding life.
This philosophy of care has continued to guide Royal Freemasons as the organisation has evolved through the years. It has grown into one of Victoria’s largest and most respected aged care providers and today operates a state-wide network of accommodation, services and facilities across retirement living, community care and residential care.
This continued commitment to innovation and excellence has been pivotal in the development of Coppin Lodge our new, state-of-the-art, aged care residence which represents the latest chapter in Royal Freemasons’ continued evolution as it moves from a great past to a bright future.
An Impressive Contemporary Design

Located on the original Moubray Street site where Royal Freemasons was founded almost 150 years ago, Coppin Lodge represents the future of aged care in Australia. An impressive four-storey contemporary building, sensitively integrating historic features including the striking façade preserved from the original Coppin Hall, this multipurpose aged care residence offers exceptional standards of quality across accommodation, facilities and services. This offers you a rare opportunity to experience comfort, convenience and a touch of luxury in a place you would be proud to call your home.
This new facility supplements the existing buildings, which are themselves undergoing extensive renovations and upgrades to provide residents with the highest standards of care and services.
Operated by a highly skilled and experienced team of Royal Freemasons staff with support from a panel of accredited doctors, this state-of-the-art facility houses modern consulting suites offering an extensive range of allied health services including general practice, podiatry, physiotherapy, pharmacy and dental services. With this comprehensive range of care and support, Coppin Centre provides an ageing in place solution, enabling most residents to remain in their new home without having to move should their circumstances change. Other services include laundry, dry cleaning and room servicing.
Bright, Beautiful, Spacious Rooms

The buildings are set amongst beautiful gardens, with more extensive landscaping and a sensory garden planned for in 2012. They offer a number of single rooms, all with en suites, plus a handful of rooms for couples. The large, spacious rooms are filled with natural light and come complete with quality carpets and stylish fixtures and fittings plus well-sized windows offering views out over the surrounding area. Each room has been designed with the needs of the residents in mind and include a number of innovative features such as specially designed light and electrical switches in easy-to-reach positions, emergency call buttons and adjustable beds.
Built-in wardrobes with adjoining cupboards and drawers provide ample storage space, while display shelves offer you the chance to place ornaments, framed photographs and other decorative items to help turn your new room into your new home. As you would expect from a residence of this quality, modern en suite bathrooms provide that special touch of luxury and include additional mobility fittings, walk-in showers and convenient bathroom cabinets and storage cupboards.
All rooms come with flat screen televisions and are fitted with the capacity for Foxtel and broadband internet, meaning you can watch your favourite programs or sporting events, surf the internet or perhaps Skype with friends and family – all from the comfort of your own brand new suite at Coppin Centre.
Each room is also fitted with a 'VitalCall' emergency button, which can also be worn as a pendant, and is linked to a paging system carried by members of staff, ensuring emergency support will always be available no matter where you are, day and night.
Cleaning and laundry is taken care of, and there are comfortable shared areas where residents can socialise, spend time reading, relaxing or enjoy a visit from family and friends who are welcome to stay and enjoy morning tea, light lunch or afternoon tea in the Coppin Coffee Shop. A wide choice of social and recreational activities are available, and should residents wish to do some personal shopping, regular bus trips are available to take them to nearby Chapel Street.
