Stay Part of Your Community

Moving into an Independent Living Unit gives you a sense of belonging that you don't get from living on your own.

Your neighbours are more than just people who live near you, they are people who will stop for a chat, someone who will invite you round for dinner or a friend you know you can rely on. For many people, the sense of community is one of the main attractions of living here, although it's nice to be able to have the private sanctuary of your own home as well. Nearby are the shops, parks, cafes and restaurants that you've grown up around; your local butcher who knows you by name, the hairdressers you've always gone to, not to mention your network of friends and your family.

Located at both metropolitan and regional centres across Victoria, Royal Freemasons Independent Living Units give you much more than just a house to live in; it gives you a place to call home. You can continue to live the kind of lifestyle that you enjoy, close to your family, friends and in the community you known, but in an environment specially adapted to your needs. At each of our metropolitan sites, we are able to deliver home care, including personal care from our Community Care program to those who are eligible for this level of support. While we do not have staff on site at most developments, we do undertake regular visits to ensure your needs are being met. You're also close to local doctors, hospitals and other health and support networks. If your health circumstances change, we can help to adapt your unit and arrange the support services you need, to enable you to remain in your home.
